Santorini, Greece provided a beautiful background for this fabulous destination wedding. The ceremony and reception was held at the Sun Rocks Boutique Hotel, an historic hotel overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The couple wanted to use the natural location and a light color palette to convey an elegant and romantic theme and with the help of local vendors, the Chinese couple was able to pull off this ultra gorgeous Grecian ceremony. From the bride: “We didn’t have a particular theme for our wedding and just wanted something elegant and romantic. We chose rose, white, cream and gold for the wedding. We hired a local wedding planner that helped us organize our day!”

What did your schedule look like on the day of the wedding? “Our preparation started at 3PM in the hotel. We then had our first look around 5PM. Ceremony started at 6 just before sunset time and lasted 30 minutes. After that we had some formal photos and our wedding portraits at sunset time while guests were enjoying canapes. Reception at the hotel at 8 until midnight, where we ended our night dancing under the stars with a pianist playing for us. It was very romantic!”

What were your favorite photos from the wedding? “We loved our ceremony photos at sunset, our first look and wedding portraits as we can revive our favourite wedding moments through the photos. Our wedding photographer knew that we really loved photographs. So she organised a surprise for us. She organised our entrance to the reception with sparklers, involving all our 23 guests. It was very emotional and unexpected! We totally loved it and we have so many photographs remembering that moment.”

Planning a wedding all the way from China, how did you find your amazing photographer, Roberta? “We loved all our vendors. The majority was based in Santorini and therefore were recommended by our wedding planners. We choose our wedding photographer though, with whom we had a Skype call several months in advance. We were looking for a romantic wedding photography style, full with natural light. Roberta was exactly what we were looking for, and she flew from London to photograph our intimate destination wedding in Santorini.”

Advice for future brides? “Enjoy every moment and pick the right vendors that can represent best your wedding day according to your personal style and taste.”
