We are both from LA. It has been an epic journey to arrive to Phuket! The reason why we chose Phuket for our destination wedding is because I am originally from Japan. Thailand is also a very beautiful place where my family and friends from Tokyo could easily join us on our Wedding Day. We chose the beach, since we live at the seaside and we really love it. We decided to get married on Valentine’s Day. I wanted a very “Kawaii” inspired wedding! That is why we did a bit of research among Phuket wedding planners and decided to book with Wedding Boutique. We decided on this Wedding Boutique because Ilaire, the Italian Wedding Planner, was able to design a very unique and stylish wedding theme for us. The theme was “Lime & Soda” and consisted of pastel colors with a nautical touch. She created and set up so many cute decorations matching with our style! She was also very helpful to us when we chose our outfits and accessories for the big day. We did not take much time to plan the wedding, since the event was a small one. Ilaire was very helpful for the entire process. We booked the wedding planning service with Wedding Boutique around 4 months in advance. Four months worked well, and we did not feel rushed. We had plenty of time to enjoy every detail of the wedding planning.
Eventually, we arrived to Phuket with our families and few friends. We arrived two days before our wedding day. We stayed at the Novotel Resort for a very short holiday. Luckily, Wedding Boutique helped us create a unique itinerary along with many suggestions on how to enjoy Phuket in such a short time. She booked us all the best vendors for the makeup, photography, video, and even our wedding cake. We met with the Wedding Boutique team upon arrival and they explained to us all the details and timeline of our big day. They told us that it was important to relax on the day before the wedding. They even had suggestions on how to relax after the big day. On the wedding day, I was very excited! I was with my mom and best friends for the makeup artist arrival. The makeup artist did a great job applying makeup for my Asian face. Actually, Gavin helped us as well. He surprised me with a lovely handmade bow headpiece for the veil. Private transportation arrived soon after and picked us all up. The ceremony was at 5 pm right on the beach. It was the perfect time for a stunning sunset! I cannot describe the ceremony completely. It was something that was so intimate and emotional that I don’t think anybody could put it all into words. After the ceremony, we had about one hour of taking photos with the professional photographer. Meanwhile our guests were enjoying refreshments. The Wedding Boutique Team was setting up our Romantic Reception Dinner under the stars! When we came back from the photo session, the reception dinner setup was ready to go. We choose a Thai Food Dinner to let our guests be delighted with the local cuisine. Everything was so yummy, especially the signature wedding cake that Ilaire provided us from the Italian Pastry. It was amazing!
My favorite photos from the wedding are the ones of me in the gazebo. I looked more beautiful than I ever looked before (thanks to the MUA and the photographer!) I think I will forever remember my mom’s smile. She was much more excited than me walking to the altar. She practiced for a whole day to be ready to say, “I Do”, when the Celebrant, Jake, asked her to give her daughter to her future husband.
