• view count-A Bali Cliffside Wedding With a Peach + Baby Blue + Mint Color Theme [Villa Bayuh Sabbha Bali]  3.6K

From Bride Sophia:We dreamt of hosting a wedding in Bali from the moment we were engaged. We started to plan the wedding approximately a year before the actual day and had an initial dash to secure our venue, planner, and key vendors before slowing the pace for the rest of the year. I wanted a laid-back and casual vibe for the wedding so rustic theme is a no brainer, and Villa Bayuh Sabbha is perfect for the setup. I chose peach, baby blue, and mint as my main color palette. Peach is soft and calm, loaded with energy without being overly feminine, so I used it as the main color. Baby blue and mint were then added to make the décor livelier.”

First off, how did you two meet?Zuo and I met at a Belgium Bar in Philadelphia when my friends were trying to set me up with another guy. Given my friends’ hidden agenda that night, we did not have much time to interact with one another but he certainly caught my attention with his fun-loving personality, wittiness, and degree of candour. After that night, we did not meet again till a couple months later at a house dinner party that Zuo organized, and that was when we got to know each other better.”

What kind of emotions did you (or your husband) feel throughout the day?It was rewarding to see how everything came together after 1 year of planning and it was heartwarming to see our friends and families from all over the world. However, the main emotion we felt was definitely excitement – we could not wait to exchange our vows at the picturesque Uluwatu cliffside and celebrate our big day with the people who mean the most to us. The most special moment of the day was definitely when I walked down the aisle, holding my father’s arm, and locking eyes with my soon to be husband.”

Advice for future brides? “First, always agree on an overall budget with your partner once you received a few initial high level quotes from your planner. The budget can be refined along the way as you get into the wedding planning details but it is helpful to anchor yourselves to a number that both parties feel comfortable about given the financial circumstance. Secondly, have a heart-to-heart discussion with your partner on which aspect of the wedding means the most to the both of you. There are countless avenues to spend on a wedding but most of us have limited resources and time. Zuo and I always felt that our Bali wedding is not just about us, but also about the people we care about, most who are flying from all over the world to share this special moment with us. As such, we were very clear that our priority was to ensure that all our guests ate well & drank well (and sufficiently of course), so we spent a substantial portion of our budget to bring on our favorite caterer and handpicked the wines to pair with the dinner. Both you and your partner should do as much prep as you can before the wedding but on the actual day, it is important to designate all remaining tasks to a few select individuals in the bridal party as well as your wedding planner. The most important objective is not to execute a “perfect” wedding but for you and your partner to enjoy the day.”
