• view count-A Starry, Starry Night Wedding Theme With Stunning Marooons and Navy Blues [Novotel Manila Araneta Center] 6.7K

From Bride Kim: "The wedding planning took almost 2 years—1 year and 11 months. We only had an “On-the-Day” coordinator since we wanted to be hands-on. It was a bit challenging because we didn’t get to personally meet all our suppliers before booking them since we are both working overseas (UAE). All communications and transactions were done via email and messengers. We wanted a December wedding, but we thought December 2017 would be too soon, ergo we decided to have it in 2018. We chose Maroon and Navy Blue with Gold accent to have that Christmas vibe with a Starry, Starry Night theme. We incorporated stars on those little details such as wedding cord accents, missalettes, place cards, souvenirs, centerpieces and backdrop.”

First off, how did you two meet? Groom: “It was the summer of 2013 when a new batch of nurses joined the BPO company where I was working. She became a new member of my team. Over the course of that summer, her bubbly personality slowly won me over. As soon as we started dating, we planned for our future and left the BPO industry to study Medical Coding-- from officemates to classmates! Since then, we’ve been teammates in 4 companies in Manila and in UAE.”

What kind of emotions did you (or your husband) feel throughout the day? Was there one particular moment that was very special to you? Bride: “Definitely at my happiest! It was like a million dreams and a million prayers that finally came true. When I first saw my groom at the altar, my first thought was “Is that David Beckham crying? Or am I marrying Ryan Reynolds?” Kidding aside, the most unforgettable moment for me was when he was saying his personal vows. I don’t think any amount of words can possibly portray how grateful and blessed I am to have him in my life.”

Groom: “I kept telling myself “Keep it together”. Then the bridal march song, Yellow by Coldplay, started playing and it hit me hard that it made me cry. I couldn’t help but think about everything we’ve been through—all the ups and downs which made us so strong. I can’t even imagine the kind of man I would be without her.”

Any advice for current bride-to-be’s planning their wedding? “Make sure you and your partner are committed to it. Communication is key. Set the budget and keep everything on track by using Excel. Know your priorities--decide on which vendors you’re willing to splurge or skimp on. Don’t stress yourselves too much and learn to have some fun. Treat this as your first project as husband and wife. Do your research and read tons of reviews. Trust your suppliers! Besides, you won’t be availing their services if you don’t believe in their skills. Our personal mantra has always been “Let go and Let God!”. You’ve done your part during the wedding planning process and it’s about time to just enjoy and savour every moment of your wedding day.”
