From Groom William: “It took us 3 months to plan our wedding. We started from a soft color palette of pink, blue, and purple. We also wanted the colors to represent summer since I grew up in a tropical country. White represented purity, blue the ocean, pink passion and romance, and purple elegance and sophistication. These are also my wife’s favorite colors as well, so I had this idea to put all these colors together as our theme while also representing summer, passion, and nature.”
First of all, how do you two meet? "It was a very unique situation how I met my wife! I was originally unable to attend the wedding of wife’s brother but then I thought, if i didn’t go, I would regret it. So I attended the wedding and it was here that I met my wife."
What kind of emotions were you feeling throughout the day? "I was very moved throughout the day. I kept thinking about how we met and all the details that led up to today. Our wedding was incredible and I almost couldn’t believe it was happening. We are here together for a lifetime and I was very moved and very excited. One particular moment was when the two of us said our vows and gave our lives to each other. We meant every word of it."
With only a 3 month timeline, how did you plan your wedding? "First, planning a wedding indoors and outdoors is very different. Outdoor weddings are relatively more relaxed but you have to pay attention to weather, always have a plan B. In the planning process, the event planner is a very important role. It’s always good to use vendors that they have worked with before, whether it’s photographers, videographers, or makeup artists so that you know that they are reliable. Also, always plan in detail for your guests or else it’s easy to go over budget."
Advice for future brides? "First of all, the husband must ask the wife if she has any wishes for her wedding that she wanted ever since she was a little girl. Then, you have to create a budget to see if all her wishes can come true. Then, I recommend getting an event planner to plan out the details and create a very detailed plan. If the budget fit, you can go abroad for the wedding - the feeling of a destination wedding is very different. Plus, you get beautiful mountains and oceans."
