So you guys know we love it when the couple chooses to honor their culture’s wedding traditions! Well this wedding started off with traditional Vietnamese tea ceremonies in both of their family homes. Bride, Helen wore a gorgeous traditional red Ao Dai and Khan Dong while groom, Kim and his groomsmen wore the traditional blue Vietnamese attire. The wedding ceremony then took place at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Flemington, an inner suburb of Melbourne, Australia which included readings from not only the bride herself, but her bridesmaids as well! Before heading to the Melbourne Museum for the dinner reception, the couple took the most gorgeous shots at the beautiful Carlton Gardens and in front of the stunning Royal Exhibition Building. From the bride: “Our wedding day was such a magical day. It was an extremely overwhelming day for us both, but so full of love and happiness. We had so much love and support from our beloved family and friends.”

Flashback question - how did you two meet? “We are both pharmacists who met while working at the same company. On our first date, we went for a walk along the Yarra but Kim didn’t make the move to hold my hand. I thought that perhaps Kim wasn’t interested but Kim was the kind of guy who wanted to be really sure before he committed to something. While we both no longer work there, our love remained strong and have been together ever since.”
Describe the wedding! How long did it take to plan? “The wedding took about 8 months to plan; namely due to that fact that we had to book our wedding venue, Melbourne Museum, and caterer, Crystal Place, ahead of time.”

How was the planning process? “Planning our wedding was such a stressful experience for us both, however in retrospect, the process of planning and organizing it with our beloved family and friends allowed us to bond and create so many wonderful memories. Even though our wedding was probably marred with heaps of unexpected tumbles and turns, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding day.”

What colors did you use? “Our colour palette for the wedding consisted of hues of dusty pink, grey, gold and marble. Our guests loved in particular our cocktail and dessert bars, in which they were able to get up and interact with one another, as well as enjoy the variety on offer.”

Advice for future brides? “Learn to delegate a lot of your tasks. You won't be able to do everything yourself, and you don't want to be doing anything on your wedding day. We had a good friend, with excellent managerial skills, who acted as an unofficial wedding coordinator. It helped put as minds as ease and allowed us to enjoy the day, knowing that our wedding ran according to our schedule.”
